How to manually install the patch file for JoyConnect

This guide will walk you through how to install a patch file that will update JoyConnect that you have installed to the latest version.

📌 Note: Please only complete the steps below if you have been asked to do so by a member of the Joy Team. The process will work for every user of that machine.

If your IT team have implemented Joy in a particularly restrictive way you may need to restart the machine before completing this process.

It might take a little time for things to download in the background. This is a one-off task and we apologise for the trouble. If you're not sure if it has worked, please try closing and reopening JoyConnect again after following the instructions.

  1. Please download the patch file by clicking this link

  2. Please select ‘Keep’ 👇 when the popup (pictured below) appears in your internet browser

  3. Click the arrow ⬇️ in the top right-hand corner of your browser to view your ‘downloads’ and click on the file

  4. Click ‘Open’ 👇 when prompted by the security warning (pictured below)

  5. If there are any issues at this stage, please take a screenshot of any error message that shows and email this to your account manager or [email protected]

  6. Restart JoyConnect by right-clicking the icon in the tray and selecting 'Restart' 👇

  7. Finally, check the version number of JoyConnect that is installed on your computer by opening your icon tray in the bottom right-hand corner and hovering your mouse over the JoyConnect icon

  8. If JoyConnect has not updated to a number after 1.0.14 then please get in touch with [email protected]

  9. You have now manually patched Joy Connect! 🎉
