Use the Services directory in the Case Management sidebar to send a client information about one or more community services.
Find a service
In Case Management, open Services from the sidebar.
Use the directory views — All added, My saved, or My organisation's — or search with Search services... to find the service.
On the service card, select Signpost.
Choose the client
In Signpost a client, search by the client's name.
Press Enter to search.
Check the returned client's details, including the name and NHS number where shown.
Select the correct client.
The Send a signpost dialog opens with the service you selected already added. The selected service is part of the normal service list, so you can remove it if it is not needed.
Review the signpost
Check the service in the review list.
To send more than one service, search in Search for services... and select Add for each additional service.
To remove a service, select Remove beside it.
If the provider should be told about this signpost, select Notify service provider for that service.
Choose how to send it
Select Email or WhatsApp when the option is available.
Check the address shown under Email to. If the client has no email address, add one on the client's Profile tab before signposting.
Review the editable Subject and Email content. You can change both before sending.
Under Send WhatsApp to, choose the phone number to use. All phone numbers on the client's record are listed.
Review the Message preview. WhatsApp uses an approved template, so its wording cannot be edited.
WhatsApp may not be available if it is not enabled for the organisation or the client has no phone number on their record. Add a number on the client's Profile tab if needed.
Add the send and recording details
The channel details are needed to send the signpost: add at least one service, then complete the email subject and message, or choose a WhatsApp phone number.
The footer contains additional recording and automation choices:
Time spent (min) records the time spent on this activity. It has a default value that you can change.
Client case can be left as No case, linked to an existing case, or set to New case.
Send automatic reminder is optional. When selected, Joy reminds the client after three days.
Add to clinical record is optional and is available when a clinical system is linked. If you select it, choose the relevant SNOMED CT codes.
These choices do not replace the channel details above. Review them according to your organisation's recording requirements.
Send the signpost
Check the services, recipient, channel details, and any optional footer choices.
Select Signpost now.
Joy shows delivery feedback after the send. The service connection is also recorded against the client, so it can be seen in the client's Services tab.
