  1. Log into your Joy Case Management System

  2. Click on “My Organisation” 👇

  3. Click on your name 👇

  4. Add your SystmOne username ✍️ in the allocated spot

  5. Click “Save” 👇

  6. Go to the “Clinical Systems” tab

  7. Click “Add Integration” 👇

  8. Choose the Organisation – this will be the name of the GP surgery you are connecting to

Please Note: If you are connecting to your own laptop or PC leave this field blank

  9. Connection Name should be the name of the machine the Joy applet is installed on, in a GP practice it might be “Joy Medical Centre Front Reception” for example

Please Note: if you are connecting to your own machine; you should use your name and then either laptop or PC. “Lee’s Laptop”

  10. Add the Device ID you will have received when you downloaded the Joy Applet onto your computer, OR the Device ID given to you by the Joy Team if it’s a GP practice

  11. Click “Connect” 👇

  12. Wait a minute, refresh the page, and you should see the word “connected” appear and a green tick ✔️

  13. This means your connection is now ready to be used, congratulations! 🎉

Troubleshooting

📌 Note: If the connection hasn’t worked for whatever reason, you will get a notification that says, “Connection Error” and a red X will appear.

To try and figure out why the connection hasn’t worked, you can click the bell icon next to your name. Here you can see any error messages.

Common Error Messages

  • Practice is no longer connected to SystmOne – the computer with the Joy applet on it is not connected to SystmOne and needs to be reconnected. Please reach out to the practice to ensure the computer is on, logged into SystmOne and the Joy Service is “Running”.

  • User not found – the username of the person trying to use the integrations may be incorrect or the user does not have the necessary access to use the integration. Please check the spelling is correct in Joy and if so, please then check with the relevant practice manager to confirm permissions.
