Where to find new referrals
From the sidebar, click Inbound referrals.
The page opens on the Awaiting tab — this is your inbox of referrals waiting for a decision. Unread referrals show a New badge; opening one marks it as read.
Use the search box (name, NHS number, email, or referrer) and the priority, source, and service filters to find a specific referral. The list shows 15 referrals per page.
Review the referral
Click a referral row to open its details. You'll see the client's demographics, the referrer's details, the reason for referral, any form answers, attached messages, and a PDF preview where available. While it's still pending you can also adjust its priority or triage status.
Accept the referral
Click Accept. The accept dialog asks you to choose a destination:
Add to caseload (accept directly) This creates the client, a case, the referral record, and wellbeing measures in one go. You can:
Link to an existing client if a similar one is found (the app suggests matches), or create a new client
Name the case and pick a case colour
Set the client status (Active, Pre-triage, Waiting, On hold, or Inactive)
Assign staff to the case
Choose which wellbeing frameworks to set up
Optionally link the client's clinical-system record
After accepting
You'll see a confirmation with options to View profile, Add to clinical record, or Close.
The referral moves to the Past tab marked Accepted.
A "Referral accepted" note is added to the case timeline, relevant staff are notified, and the referring organisation is sent the decision.
The accepted outcome is queued to be filed back to the clinical system (it isn't sent instantly).
