This guide explains the tagging controls that are available on a list today, including the current limit that a tag cannot be added to every member in one action.
It does not cover creating lists, changing list membership or creating records for a whole list. See Lists: an overview, How to add clients to a list and How to create records for everyone on a list.
When Lists is available
Lists only appears when your organisation has the lists feature switched on.
There is no bulk action in the current app that adds one tag to every client on a list. Selecting Tag at the top of a list tags the list itself, not its members.
Tag the list itself
In the Case Management sidebar, select Lists.
Open the list.
Select Tag beneath the list title.
Choose an available tag.
The tag appears as a coloured chip beside Tag at the top of that list. It does not appear on each client's case.
To remove it from the list, select the x on its chip. If every organisation tag is already attached, the menu says No more tags available.
Select Manage tags... to open the organisation's tag catalogue. Managing that catalogue is separate from applying a tag to clients.
Tag one member
You can apply a client tag one person at a time from the list:
Open the list.
In the member's row, open Options.
Select Add a tag.
In the dialog, select a tag marked Add.
Select Done.
The same dialog can remove a client tag: select a tag marked Remove.
If no tags exist, Joy says No tags yet. Manage tags from the Lists page.
Joy applies or removes the tag as soon as you select it. There is no separate confirmation step. If Joy cannot make the change, it shows Could not update tag followed by the error.
What happens when the client already has the tag
The Add a tag dialog marks an existing client tag as Remove, rather than adding a duplicate. Selecting it removes the existing tag.
Because there is no bulk client-tagging action, the app does not show a before-confirming count of members who already have the tag.
Where to check tags
A tag attached with the list header's Tag control stays at the top of the list page.
A tag attached through a member's Options menu belongs to that client. It is not copied to the list header or automatically to every case on the client.
If you need to tag every person on a long list, do not treat the list-level chip as evidence that every client was tagged. Apply the client tag to each member separately, or ask your organisation's support contact whether a bulk-client-tagging process is available outside this screen.
