JoyNotes

Written by Nico Campodonico

You can use JoyNotes to capture a consultation with AI, review the draft and transcript, and confirm the write-up to the clinical system.

Before you start

JoyNotes must be enabled. Verify the patient and follow your organisation's consent and recording process. Recording needs microphone permission; the cited guide also describes pasting a transcript where available. Filing to EMIS/SystmOne requires the relevant connection; do not assume standalone/Lite has the same fileback capability.

Step by step

  1. Load your patient in JoyConnectWeb and open the JoyNotes tab.

  2. Start the session — JoyNotes will begin listening to your consultation with the patient.

  3. Carry out your consultation as normal.

  4. When the consultation ends, the AI generates a draft write-up based on what was said.

  5. Review the draft and check it against the transcript if you need to verify anything.

  6. Make any corrections needed, then confirm to send the write-up to the clinical system.

Check before you confirm

The transcript is there to help you — if something in the draft doesn't look right, compare it against what was actually said before confirming. You have full control before anything is written to the clinical record.

Check the result

You have reviewed and corrected the AI draft before confirming it. Check fileback status where available; a generated draft alone does not establish that the clinical record was updated.
