π‘ Hint: If your service is already on Joy as a signpost only - please use this guide to upgrade your service to include a referral pathway.
There are three main ways you can receive referrals:
Method One: β‘ Joy instant referral
βMethod Two: π Linking to an external referral
βMethod Three: π§ Signpost only
Method One: Directly through Joy via an email (instant referral)
This is the most common way to promote a service on Joy and works well for organisations that accept referrals via email.
How it works:
A referral will be completed on Joy and sent to your inbox via email π§, this referral will contain all of the information captured on the standard Joy referral form and any additional questions you have added.
β
You will get an email like this, with the client's information below:
π‘ Hint: the referral form will be mostly auto-completed from the medical record ensuring that you have accurate and complete data.
2. From your inbox you can select 'Respond now' π, this will take you to a page where you can accept, decline or send a message to the referrer (it will look like the image below)
Method Two: By linking to an external referral form/referral portal on another website
This way works best for organisations that have very specific referral pathways that would not be able to intergrate with Joy (we often help you use instant referral, if you send us your referral form, so please reach out)
How it works:
A person making a referral will be redirected to the website you have selected, from there they will complete the referral form
βReferrals will be received in your normal way
β
π Note: When a referral happens outside of Joy the referral form is not auto-completed from the patientβs medical record. This means you are likely to receive fewer referrals.
Method Three: Signpost Only
This works best for organisations which do not accept referrals, for example, food banks. This allows clients to access your services in their own time.
How it works:
A person making the signpost simply sends your information to their client
You do not need to do anything further, except keep your listing and information up-to-date so clients receive accurate information
