How do I send a referral on JoyConnect?

Follow these steps to send a referral using JoyConnect. You can also watch a guided video of this process here.

πŸ“Œ Note: The services available on JoyConnect will differ in each GP practice as they are specifically selected based on population needs and appropriate geography.

  1. Open up a patient πŸ§‘ on either SystmOne or EMIS

  2. Open up JoyConnect by clicking the '+' button πŸ‘‡ next to 'Joy'

  3. Click 'Refer' πŸ‘‡ underneath the service you would like to refer the patient to
    ​
    ​The majority of the referral form will be filled in for you by the clinical system

  4. Ensure you have checked they meet the service criteria and then tick this box β˜‘οΈ

  5. Select the reasons for the referral β˜‘οΈ

  6. Add in any referral notes ✍️

  7. You can also optionally add any additional needs β˜‘οΈ the patient may have (for example, they may be partially sighted)

  8. Click the tickbox β˜‘οΈ to confirm the service provider can directly contact the client.

  9. Click 'Send referral'
    ​
    ​Everything will be added back onto the clinical record with the appropriate coding should you press 'Edit' to include SNOMED codes

  10. Click 'Done' or 'View referral' πŸ‘‡ to see the completed referral form

  11. You have now sent a referral using JoyConnect! πŸŽ‰
