What to do when a service is not on Joy yet

Written by Sonja Gebhardt

This guide explains what you can do from Case Management when a service is not listed on Joy.

It does not cover adding a local directory entry or referring to a service that is already listed. See How to add a service to your directory and How to refer a client from the Services directory for those tasks.

What Case Management offers

Case Management does not have an Invite service button or a form for inviting another provider organisation.

Inviting a provider and creating its public listing are Marketplace tasks. In the Case Management sidebar, select Open Joy marketplace to move to the Marketplace. Depending on your organisation's set-up, Joy signs you into the Marketplace or opens its sign-in page.

Follow your organisation's Marketplace process there. Do not use Add a service as an invitation: it does not contact the provider or give their staff access.

Check before leaving Case Management

  1. In the Case Management sidebar, select Services.

  2. Enter the service name in Search services... and press Enter.

  3. Check All added, not only My saved or My organisation's.

  4. Try a shorter or broader version of the service name if there are no results.

If nothing matches, Joy shows No services here yet. for the current search and tab.

Record the service locally instead

If your organisation needs to record or signpost the service before it joins Joy:

  1. Select Add a service.

  2. Enter the Service name.

  3. Enter the outside provider's name in Provider organisation.

  4. Add the information your staff need.

  5. Select Add service.

Joy shows Service added, and the service appears under All added and My organisation's for your organisation.

This is a local directory record. It:

  • does not send an invitation;

  • does not create an account for the provider;

  • does not publish a public Joy listing;

  • does not add a Copy link button;

  • does not guarantee that the provider receives a referral made from the record.

Use a referral type only when your organisation understands the route and has agreed how the provider will receive the referral. Otherwise, record enough information to let staff follow the established offline process.

Use the Marketplace route

Select Open Joy marketplace at the bottom of the sidebar when you need Marketplace functions that are not present in Case Management.

If you cannot access the Marketplace or cannot find the provider invitation process there, ask your organisation's Owner or Joy support. Case Management itself offers no further invitation controls.
