Use the EMIS Switcher to move safely between multiple EMIS organisations without losing context or making errors.
Before you start
This lesson is for users working across EMIS organisations, not SystmOne or standalone/Lite switching. You need the organisation's CDB code and your authorised EMIS credentials if it is not already saved. Enter passwords only in the authorised application, never in support messages.
Step by step
With EMIS open in your first organisation, double-check that the correct patient and organisation are showing in JoyConnect before you begin.
Do all the work you need to, then save it.
In the bottom left-hand corner, click Switch EMIS Organisation.
If both organisations are already saved there, select the one you want to switch to.
If not, add the CDB code for the organisation, an optional name for your own reference, your EMIS username, and your API partner password.
Confirm the switch has completed before continuing your work.
Already registered with both organisations?
You'll see a pop-up asking you to either switch organisation now or stay and decide later — so you can always come back to it.
Your API partner password isn't your EMIS login password
This is your EMAS Manager password, not the one you use to log in to EMIS day to day — and it does need to be entered here.
Check the result
Before continuing, recheck both the organisation and the patient's identity in JoyConnect. Do not take action while the organisation switch is uncertain.
