As we come to the end of 2024, I’m reflecting on what has been an extraordinary year for Joy. Together, we’ve made meaningful strides towards addressing the social determinants of health by preventing illness rather than just treating it. This mission is deeply personal to me, inspired by loved ones whose lives could have been profoundly different with just a little more care and support. Thanks to you, we’re making a real difference.
This year, Joy supported over 358,000 clients, facilitated more than 1 million patient contacts, and sent nearly 280,000 referrals to vital community services, addressing needs such as mental health and loneliness. These aren’t just numbers; they represent lives changed and futures made brighter 💜.
2024 was also a year of innovation. From launching automation tools that save healthcare staff precious time to introducing features that simplify client management, we’ve taken big steps towards building a better, more preventative healthcare system.
None of this would have been possible without the support of our customers, partners, and the incredible local services we work with every day. You are at the heart of everything we do, and I’m truly grateful for your role in Joy’s success this year.
Looking ahead, 2025 will be another exciting chapter. We’ll expand Joy Connect, enhance our Marketplace, and roll out tools to make care coordination even easier. Together, we’ll continue building a healthier, more joyful future.

It’s been a big year for Joy as we’ve worked hard to improve our platform. We launched a range of features designed to make social prescribing and referrals easier than ever. While things haven’t always been perfect (thank you for your patience), we’re excited to keep growing and improving together.
What's new:
💜 Joy Connect: A simpler, faster way for GPs to make referrals directly from EMIS and SystmOne. This integration is small but mighty, making signposting and referrals effortless for healthcare staff!
🤖 Automations: Save time by automating repetitive client tasks. Set up rules to streamline frequent actions and focus on what really matters - without missing a thing!
✅ Client Lists: Easily group clients into customisable lists. Use these lists to send bulk emails, update client records, or streamline care for large patient groups. Making care easier has never been so simple!
🔔 Notification Centre: Now with a sleek new look and improved functionality! Stay connected with patients through a refreshed design and easier navigation.
📁 View 'Medical Record': Access patient records directly from EMIS or SystmOne within Joy. No more logging into clinical systems separately - saving you valuable time.
💳 Invoicing Tool: Councils can now make and track payments more efficiently. This feature helps councils and services maximise social prescribing through automated invoices and better incentives!
💼 Client Cases: Our upgraded client management tool allows multiple users to collaborate on the same client seamlessly. (Currently in BETA - coming soon for all users)

Meaningful Measures: We partnered with Meaningful Measures to integrate their MYCaW® framework into our platform. This easy-to-use and validated tool helps streamline health assessments and improve user experiences.
Macmillan Cancer Support: Together with Macmillan, we embedded their referral pathways directly into GP clinical systems, making it easier than ever to connect patients with vital support services.

One of this year’s highlights was our partnership with NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, and Cadastra to create these incredible adverts. 🌟
These eye-catching campaigns appeared at bus stops across LLR, encouraging local residents to access the support they need through Joy. Whether it’s finding help for financial worries or connecting to vital community services, our mission to make support more accessible has never been more visible. 👏
