How to refer from EMIS using the Joy GP App

  1. Retrieve your patient

  2. Click on the banner πŸ‘‡ going down the far left of the screen to open the panel

  3. Click on 'Social prescribing' πŸ‘‡

4. This should open the Joy Portal home page and click 'Refer now' πŸ‘‡

5. Complete the referral form ✍️

Please note, if the patient doesn’t have an NHS number, data will be missing

Please include any and all information that is useful for the person receiving the referral

6. Tick the boxes and click 'Submit'πŸ‘‡

If you would like to add this referral to the clinical record, follow the steps below.

7. Customise the note ✍️ to be filed back to the patient’s medical record

8. Select relevant SNOMED codes πŸ‘‡

9. Press 'Add' πŸ‘‡

10. Press 'Close' πŸ‘‡

​The status of the referral will be displayed here and will change when it gets accepted.

11. To exit the portal, click 'Close' πŸ‘‡

12. Congratulations! You have now used the GP App within EMIS! πŸŽ‰
