πŸ’‘ Hint: An inappropriate referral is a referral which is not correct for your service due to their needs or your access criteria, for example, if you only don't allow referrals for clients under 18 however you have received one for a 16 year old.

To help reduce inappropriate referrals, there are two main things you can do:

Method One: Manage service access criteria

This guide will walk you through how to edit your service access criteria.

This will let people know who you can and cannot support. The referral form will require the referee to tick a box β˜‘οΈ to confirm that they have checked the service access criteria before being able to submit the referral (See image).

Method Two: Add custom questions to your referral form

This guide will walk you through how to add custom questions to your referral form.

This will allow you to gain more information about the patient or resident who has been referred before contacting them directly.

Additionally, to manage the capacity of your service there are a few steps to take

  1. Close your listing when you have hit capacity

  2. Add a 'waitlist' expectation in weeks to let people know you operate with a waitlist (you can do this by editing your listing)
