Error Message - Turn on the relevant APIs

Error message when installing JoyConnect - Hmm ... something went wrong. You might need to turn on the relevant APIs, get user permission or approve JoyConnect in the clinical system.

When the following message appears when installing JoyConnect in EMIS:

This means that the user has not been ticked in EMAS manager.

✔️ Solution: To rectify this please ask the practice manager or anyone with access to EMAS manager to do the following:

  1. Click the EMIS ball

  2. Choose “System Tools” 👇

  3. Choose “EMAS Manager” 👇

4. Choose "Partner API" 👇 from the bottom left

5. Find and then select "Joy" 👇 from the list

6. Click “Log in Access” 👇

7. Click on "User" 👇 to alphabetise the list

8. Find the name of any staff who may be connecting/signposting patients to local services e.g.

This includes:

  • GPs and clinicians who may signpost a patient to support during a consultation

  • Admins Staff handling appointment requests

  • ARRS roles such as Social prescribers/health coaches/care coordinators

Please don’t untick any users who are already ticked.

9. Tick both boxes for “auto” ☑️ and “allow login” ☑️

10. Click “OK" 👇

11. You have now updated the EMAS permissions correctly! 🎉
